Jane makes the gel candles whilst Peter offers moral support in between making wooden puzzles and board games (www.hadrianswallcrafts.co.uk) All the candles are individually made from medium density gel wax using a zinc cored wick for smooth and smoke free burning. The gel used to make these candles is clear, so Jane colours them with special dry colourants or adds glitter or sometimes actually suspends 22 carat gold leaf, usually in Frankincense and Myrrh Christmas candles!! Some are decorated with a dried flower. The gel wax melts when burnt so the candles are always within a glass container. These beautiful candles burn at least three times longer than a conventional wax candle and without all the drips and smoke.
She uses 100% pure essential oils with no artificial or chemical scents used. This means our candles have all the beneficial effects of aromatherapy. Please look on the oils page for more details of the oils used.
As Jane hand makes all the candles they can be made to your requirements, for example, the colour can match a bridesmaids dress or a corporate colour. If you want a really unusual golden wedding gift then why not have (for instance) a lavender candle with 22 carat gold leaf suspended in it? Doesn't that sound fun!! Also it means that the candles are always different, sometimes even black or if the granddaughters are about, girly pink. But whatever the colour or decoration they always smell fantastic. None of the sickly artificial smells so popular with supermarkets - YUK.
